Ashoka Buildcon gains after winning major NWR electric traction project

The order, awarded by the President of India through the chief electrical engineer (CEE)/project, NWR, Ajmer, involves the upgradation of the existing electric traction system from 1 × 25 kV to 2 × 25 kV. The project also includes modification of the overhead equipment (OHE) to support train operations at speeds of up to 160 kmph across select sections of Ajmer Division, covering AII-COR, COR-UDZ, MD-BWA, and BWA-PNU sections, spanning a total of 660.81 route km (1,200.85 track km).

The scope of work includes design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning. The contract is to be executed domestically over 24 calendar months from the date of issuance of the letter of acceptance (LoA).

There is no interest from Ashoka Buildcon’s promoters or promoter group in the awarding entity, and the contract is not classified as a related-party transaction.

Ashoka Buildcon is engaged in the construction & maintenance of roads and supporting services to land support and operation of toll roads.

The company’s standalone net profit declined 25% to Rs 30.62 crore on a 30.2% fall in revenue from operations to Rs 1,310.64 crore in Q1 FY26 over Q1 FY25.
