China Stocks buoy on hopes of stimulus
29-Sep-26 17:32Hrs IST

Chinese equities demonstrated a marginal increase on Tuesday, underpinned by escalating anticipation of additional governmental stimulus measures to bolster the economy. The Shanghai Composite advanced 0.18% to 3,830.5, whereas the Shenzhen Component registered a 0.34% gain to 12,902.

Anticipation is building among investors for an increase in government bond supply during the fourth quarter. Local authorities had utilized 81% of their dedicated bond allocation through the first nine months of 2026, as the State Council contemplates permitting the utilization of prior-year unallocated borrowing allowances. This prospect suggests a potential rise in debt offerings, thereby reinforcing fiscal support mechanisms.

Attention now centers on China’s official and private manufacturing PMI data scheduled for release Wednesday. Market participants will scrutinize the figures to evaluate the condition of the manufacturing sector, particularly given sustained external demand and the technology sector's ongoing performance. Agricultural Bank of China advanced 1.17%, Cambricon Technologies increased by 2.55%, and Suzhou Dongshan Precision appreciated 1.74% among the day’s top performers.
