Gold climbs back to $4400 an ounce

Gold prices nearly reached $4400 an ounce in Wednesday's electronic trades as investors adjusted ahead of the Federal Reserve's latest policy decision and economic projections. The dollar index was near 99.3, close to a one-month high, with most expecting a 25-basis-point rate hike. Market focus is now on the Fed's future guidance, especially regarding possible increases in October or December to combat inflation. Additionally, MCX October bullion futures rose nearly 1% to Rs.151,885 per 10 grams.
