HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd consolidated sales down 35.66% on year in Q2FY2026, net profit soared by 22.85%

HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd share price slipped 0.09% to Rs 530.0 after the company's net profit surged by 22.85% to Rs 611.19 crore, while revenue from operations nosedived 35.66% to Rs 16727.63 crore in Q2FY26 over Q1FY26.


The market capitalization of Life Insurance industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 9.87 lakh crore, plunging by 16.46%. It has slipped by 1.94% over last one week and eased lower by 6.15% in last one month while the market capitalization of HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd has eased by 5.02% and 7.97% in the same period respectively.


Profit before tax (PBT) of HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd stood at Rs 677.13 crore in Q2 FY26, improving 12.14% year-on-year, and surging by 26.17% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 334 crore, jumping 21.70% YoY and tanking 204.63% sequentially.


Total expenses jumped by 68.10% to Rs 33252.7 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, employee benefits expense was at Rs 921.92 crore, dipping slightly 4.75% YoY.


For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations grew 11.35% to Rs 77760.49 crore, while net profit grew slightly 5.61% to Rs 1912.32 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA witnessed a strong improvement of 36202% to Rs 209.35 crore, and PBT witnessed a strong rise of 59.50% to Rs 2057.17 crore compared to previous TTM.



HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd plunged by 30.63% in last one year, underperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has slipped by 8.95% during the same period.
