ICICI Bank has reported 5% growth in net profit at Rs 12358.89 crore for the quarter ended September 2025 (Q2FY2026). The bank has posted 7% growth in net interest income (NII), while the core fee income of the bank also improved 10% in Q2FY2026. The Net Interest Margin (NIM) of the bank improved to 4.30% in Q2FY2026 compared to 4.27% in the corresponding quarter of previous year.

On business front, the bank as has posted 9% growth in business with strong 10% surge in loan book. The asset quality of the bank has continued to improve in Q2FY2026. Bank has raised the credit to deposit ratio to 87.3% at end September 2025 from 85.3% at end September 2024. CASA ratio of the bank has improved to 40.9% at end September 2025 from 40.6% at end September 2024.

Asset quality improves: The bank has improved asset quality in Q2FY2026.

The fresh slippages of loans declined to Rs 5034 crore in Q2FY2026 compared with 6245 crore in previous quarter and Rs 5073 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The recoveries and upgradations of NPAs stood at Rs 3648 crore and the write-off of loans was at Rs 2263 crore in Q2FY2026.

The standard restructured loan book of the bank stood at Rs 981 crore end September 2025 compared to Rs 1145 crore a quarter ago.

Provision coverage ratio was steady at 75.00% at end September 2025 compared to 75.30% a quarter ago and eased from 78.50% a year ago.

The capital adequacy ratio of the bank stood at 15.8% with Tier I ratio at 15.1% at end September 2025.

The risk weighted assets of the bank has increased 15% YoY to Rs 1709747 crore end September 2025,

Business Highlights:

Business growth moderates: The business of the bank has increased 9% YoY to Rs 3021281 crore end September 2025, driven by 10% rise in advances to Rs 1408456 crore. Deposits rose 8% to Rs 1612825 crore at end September 2025.

CASA deposits ratio improves: The CASA deposits of the bank increased 8% YoY to Rs 658871 crore at end September 2025. The current account deposits increased 13% to Rs 206747 crore, while saving account deposits rose 6% to Rs 452124 crore end September 2025. The CASA ratio improved to 40.9% at end September 2025 compared to 40.6% at end September 2024, while declined from 41.2% a quarter ago. The term deposits have increased 7% to Rs 953954 crore end September 2025.

Double digit loan growth: Advances growth was driven by retail loans rising 7% YoY to Rs 739384 crore at end September 2025, while MSME credit surged 25% to Rs 290921 crore at end September 2025. The corporate credit rose 3% to Rs 278444 crore, while credit to agriculture declined 1% to Rs 77761 crore end September 2025. The overseas credit fell 3% to Rs 33196 crore end September 2025.

Investment book of the bank increased 4% YoY to Rs 499592 crore at end September 2025. The SLR book moved up 2% to Rs 398472 crore, while non SLR book increased 16% to Rs 101120 crore at end September 2025.

Margins improves over a year ago: The bank has shown 24 bps YoY decline in cost of deposits to 4.64%, while yield on advances fell 44 bps YoY to 9.29% in Q2FY2026. NIM has improved 3 bps YoY, while declined 4 bps qoq to 4.30% in Q2FY2026.

Branch expansion: The bank has added 180 branches and reduced 2766 ATMs in Q2FY2026, taking overall tally to 7246 branches and 10610 ATM`s end September 2025.

Book value of the bank stood at Rs 427.4 per share at end September 2025, while the adjusted book value (net of NNPA and 10% of restructured advances) was Rs 419.1 per share at end September 2025.

Quarterly Performance

NII growth eases due to sequential decline in NIM: Bank has recorded 3% increase in the interest earned at Rs 41757.95 crore, while interest expenses declined 1% to Rs 20228.49 crore in Q2FY2026. NII growth eased to 7% at Rs 21529.46 crore in the quarter ended September 2025.

Healthy growth in the core fee income: Bank has posted strong 10% growth in core fee income to Rs 6491 crore, while the treasury income declined 68% to Rs 220 crore and other income fell 10% to Rs 55 crore. The overall non-interest income increased 6% to Rs 7575.54 crore in the quarter ended September 2025.

Expenses ratio rises: The operating expenses of the bank increased 12% to Rs 11807.04 crore, as other expenses moved up 17% to Rs 7465.2 crore, while employee expenses increased 5% to Rs 4341.84 crore in Q2FY2026. Cost to income ratio rose to 40.6% in Q2FY2026 compared with 38.6% in Q2FY2025. Operating Profit rose 3% to Rs 17297.96 crore.

Provisions and contingencies decline: The bank has shown 26% decline in provisions to Rs 914.11 crore.

Effective tax rate rose to 24.6% in Q2FY2026 from 24.2% in Q2FY2025. Net Profit increased 5% YoY to Rs 12358.89 crore during quarter ended September 2025.

Financial Performance H1FY2026:

Bank has posted 10% increase in net profit to Rs 25127.10 crore in the half year ended September 2025 (H1FY2026). The net interest income increased 9% to Rs 43163.92 crore, while non-interest income moved up 13% to Rs 16080.44 crore, pushing up net total income by 10% to Rs 59244.36 crore in H1FY2026. The operating expenses increased 10% to Rs 23200.56 crore, while provision and contingencies rose 6% to Rs 2728.68 crore, allowing profit before tax to increase 10% to Rs 33315.12 crore in H1FY2026. The cost-to-income ratio was steady at 39.2% in H1FY2026 compared to 39.1% in H1FY2025. An effective tax rate rose slightly to 24.6% in H1FY2026 compared to 24.4% in H1FY2025. The net profit has increased 10% to Rs 25127.10 crore in H1FY2026.
