India’s wholesale price index (WPI) inflation accelerated to 11.39% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in September 2026, a notable increase from 9.92% registered in August, as per data disseminated by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The All-India Wholesale Price Index for all commodities demonstrated a marginal ascent to 112.5 in September, compared to 110.8 in the prior month, indicative of wholesale price appreciation across a spectrum of pivotal sectors. The index for this segment advanced to 110.5 from 108.3 over the specified timeframe. Inflation within Manufactured Products ascended to 9.76% in September, a progression from 8.37% in the preceding month.
