Market behaviours during the course of the trading session.

 
Local stocks see minor gains

The key equity barometers traded with marginal gains in early trade. Nifty opened at 24581 and hit a high of 24621 in first half hour of trade. Nifty Realty, Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty IT shares rose, while Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Healthcare Index shares retreated. At 09:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, up 114.61 points to 78,613.78. The Nifty 50 index inched up 23.30 points or 0.09% to 24,593.95. The broader market performed worse than frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index moved higher by 0.22% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index posted modest gains of 0.33%. The market breadth was encouraging. On the BSE, 2792 shares gained and 2136 shares fell. A total of 259 shares were unchanged. Nifty Realty index rose 1.48% to 899. The index has edged lower 0.75% in last one month and lost 0.79% over last one year. Brigade Enterpr., gaining 4.68%, led the gainers followed by DLF, up 2.33% and Lodha Developers, edging up 2.04%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 9 are reporting gains today. Nifty Consumer Durables index moved higher by 0.65% to 40350. The index has climbed 6.31% in last one month and edged higher by 4.72% over last one year. Titan Company, inching higher 2.73%, led the gainers followed by Kajaria Ceramics, adding 2.12% and Dixon Technolog., gaining 0.34%, respectively. Out of 13 index constituents, 3 are reporting gains today. Nifty PSU Bank index moved lower by 0.93%. The index has advanced 5.88% in last one month and recorded robust gains of 27.16% over last one year. Bank of India, easing 1.90%, led the losers followed by SBI, slipping 1.44% and I O B, down 1.05%, respectively. Out of 12 index constituents, 10 are reporting loss today. In NIFTY500, Hitachi Energy is the top gainer today, soaring 10.04% to Rs 35852.40. The counter has surged 57.41% in last one year. It recorded an average volume quantity of 6190.83 in last five sessions compared to 7798.50 over last one month. Asian markets posted sharp gains on Monday. China’s Shanghai composite is higher by 0.60%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is ahead by 0.81%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is sharply higher by 2.08%.
