Moody's assigns first-time ratings, including a Baa2 Issuer Rating, to RBL Bank Ltd

RBL Bank Ltd announced that Moody's Investors Service Singapore Pte. Ltd. has assigned first-time ratings, including an Issuer Rating of Baa2 with a stable outlook, a Long-term Deposit rating of Baa2 with a stable outlook, a Short-term Deposit rating of P-2, a Local Currency Issuer Rating of Baa2, a Short-term Local Currency rating of P-2, a Foreign Currency Issuer Rating of Baa2, and a Short-term Foreign Currency rating of P-2; additionally, Moody's has assigned first-time ratings comprising Issuer Ratings of Baa2 with a stable outlook, Long-term (LT) Deposit Ratings of Baa2 (local-currency), Short-term (ST) Deposit Ratings of P-2 (local-currency), Counterparty Risk Ratings of Baa2, Long-term (LT) Counterparty Risk Assessments of Baa2, Short-term (ST) Counterparty Risk Assessments of P-2, a Baseline Credit Assessment (BCA) of ba1, and an Adjusted BCA of baa2, with the BCA reflecting the expectation of franchise strength improvement over 2-3 years, alongside qualitative notes indicating moderate asset quality and expectations of improvement in the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio over 12-18 months, and potential for an upgrade based on franchise strength improvements, lower funding costs, improving profitability, underwriting improvement, Return on tangible assets exceeding 1.2%, and Tier 1 Common Equity Ratio to Risk-Weighted Assets greater than 20%.
