Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index records a surge of 1.34%

Nifty Media index ended up 1.34% at 1724.25 today. The index has added 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd jumped 8.10%, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd gained 2.10% and Inox Leisure Ltd fell 1.80%. The Nifty Media index has increased 6.00% over last one year compared to the 51.38% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index increased 1.29% and Nifty IT index increased 0.94% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.08% to close at 17355.3 while the SENSEX has declined 0.22% to close at 58177.76 today.
