Speculative Net Longs In Pound Slide To 3 Month Low

Large currency speculators continued to cut their net long positions in the Pound futures markets last week, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Pound futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net long position of 33683 contracts in the data reported through September 19, 2023. This was a weekly fall of 12491 net contracts and took the net longs to 3 month lows from a decade high in mid July.
