Urban unemployment rate stable in June quarter

The Urban Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) remained unchanged, according to the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation. The overall LFPR for people aged 15 and older was 54.6% for the quarter April-June 2026, down from 55.5% in the previous quarter. Rural LFPR for the same age group was 56.9%, a decrease from 58.2%. The female LFPR was 33.2%, compared to 34.7% previously. The male LFPR in urban areas slightly increased to 75.3% from 75.0% in the January-March 2026 quarter.
